Hey everybody!! How's it going? Everything's great down here in Tennessee! One of our alpacas (an animal related to the camel, similar to a llama) just had a baby girl. She's a rose-gray color, and she's very cute! I can't wait to go back to camp!! My mom, who used to be a counselor at GA, sings camp songs as lullabies to my little sister, Aubrey (3). I was combing Aubrey's hair today, and she was singing "Glen Arden, Glen Arden". Then she started telling me about how she couldn't wait until she was big enough to go to camp. It was sooo cute!!! Anyway, I can't wait to see you guys at camp this summer. I'm going to the June session this time in case anyone is interested. Love Ya!!!!!!!!!!

 I have such fond memories of this place as a child.  Between us, my sisters and I share nearly 20 years of memorable camp fires, early morning Pot-Hole dips in the lake, Tajar tales, and our names in the rafters of Crow's Nest.  i hope one day, to share these memories with a daughter of my own.  Glen Arden will forever be in my heart.  Thank you to Casey for continuing to carry on this amazing tradition and experience, for the next generation of girls!

 Ok, I really tried to give up signing the guestbook, but I just can't. All you new campers and old, look for my name when you find out you're cabin in the July session. If you go to the website, you'll know my name. So, anyways I'm really excited about coming to camp this year and just can not wait. I have a count down in my room that I made. It started on 54 days, and now it's on, like, 23 days til camp counting today. I'm already packing for camp and I'm almost finished. I can't wait to see all my buddies again. You know, cabin 7. Woodoak, Cookie, Walnut, and me, Poe. It's heaven in Cabin 7!!! The summer days are so boring and long that I'm losing track of what day it is. I think it's Sunday or something, today. Whatever. I too have been thinking and praying for my old CGA friends in the Hurricane stricken regions. Here in New Zealand it seems so surreal, but when I see the pictures of places I know I can only begin to imagine what you must be going through. Please know I am thinking of you. Pam Bolton your reminiscing of Hendersonville bought tears to my eyes as I remenber with fondness the wonderful times I had with you, Casey, TP, Shanna,Donna, Elaine and so many others. It has been many years since I was a camper at Glen Arden. It was one of the most memorable summers I think I have ever had. When I was a camper we were located at the boarding school facilities and I believe where you are located now use to be the boys camp. As a teacher I am always using stories and experiences I had in my classroom. I use to have all kinds of memorabilia but as time has gone by and moves have been made I know longer have those tangible memories, but the ones I keep stored in my head are better than any thing I could put my hands on. Talk about blast from the past! Stormy Saturday morning in Hendersonville and I got big smiles seeing the comments from all the oldies. After 14 years teaching at Hendersonville High School I guess I can almost be considered a Townie here and, man oh man, has this town changed...Roses long gone and replaced by K-Mart, Wal Mart, then Super Wal Mart (with a Sam's in the future)...downtown theater then Four Seasons Cinema, and now a multiplex being built...still a bit of a "mall"...King's Hardware and Louis Williams Hardware still there, but now so are Lowe's and Home Depot...Dutch Inn became Howard Johnson's and now there is an Eckerds there...lots of fast food places, and car dealers, and a new bank it seems every week, a quaint downtown with area-theme inspired bears on the sidewalks... but when you stop, and listen, and take a deep breath, it is what it has always been and will always be as long as the place remains a couple of miles up the winding mountain road just off Green River Road, just 2 miles from Hwy. 25, just about 15 minutes from where I sit this morning as the thunder rolls...and my happy place is the bleachers on the lower athletic field, just up in the shadows cast by the big pines, where you can sit at night and watch campers, counselors, and the Tajar come out and frolic in the moonlight...

Just found the CGA website and got all excited to read from former campers. I enjoy the newsleters expecially Casey's Corner and I especially remember Tajartime. I am an oldie from the sixties, but still remember every moment spent in the mountains. I learned to ride horses at GA and went on to compete in many years of horseshows, eventually switching to cutting horses and competiting in NCHA,which was awesome. I owe a lot of gratitude to GA. I don't remember many names except for Casey and Mary Bell and I will never forget the experience of being a GA girl. GO REDS!!!!!!!

Hey everyone! Although it has been over 30 years since I first attended camp, the sights and smells and memories of camp remain with me all the time. This is my first time visiting the guest book and I see that my sister (Audree Christensen Rowe) has Glen Arden on her mind as well. I am an elementary school teacher in the Detroit area. I share my house with my two dogs Maggie and Scout. Last summer I planted a rhododendron in my back yard last summer. It reminds me of camp. This time of year always reminds me of how I would be busy counting down the days until camp. Have a wonderful summer. GO BLUE!

Hello Glen Arden Girls! Every once in a while I like to check in on the website to see how things are going with the beautiful alumni of CGA. I am missing the mountains and the smell of the pines. Whenever I am in the denist office or somewhere stressful, I go to my "Happy Place" in my mind...the wall at the top of the lower athletic field. Mmmm. I am living large here in GLENview, Illinois. I have a wonderful 9-year-old daughter, Olivia, and a charming little 20-month-old son, Davis. They are the lights of my life. I am working as an artist out of the home, so I can be with my little guy. When he goes to school, I will either go back to teaching or continue on my career as an artist. i haven't seen any letters from any of the old campers from the seventies. I miss hearing from alot of the girls, especially laura pole, i just wanted to know how she and her sister are doing. how alot of the c.i.t.'s and j.c.'s and also the counselors who i worked with back then. i hope that they see the ga guestbook - it's wonderful reading how these kids feel about old cga that we wrote the songs for from the girls in my time at Christ School and at GA. I want to come back so badly atleast for a weekend just to see what the girls are doing and watching them all laugh and run and be sooooo happy as i did so. well everyone have a blessed Easter and or Passover and have another great 2005 summer. Since this is a guestbook for all ages, I'll send my hello's too! It's good to see names from the early 90's. That's when I really thought I was hot stuff. Now, Glen Arden has found a soft spot in my heart as it is something my mom and I always treasured together (even when I thought I was a hot stuff teen. I'm still in Boulder. I got married last year to Taylor (01-02) and Brittney (00-02) Froelich's uncle Ty last year. I'm still an entreprenure in the Climbing industry and have another project in the wings. Our crew of girls talk often thanks to email and aim. Lea Dalton will be coming to live with me as she gets her feet on the ground in Boulder. Just like old times.....I might come out for work weekend, so perhaps I'll see some of you then. Oh yes- I almost forgot- GO BLUES!!!

well i just want to say hi to casey and the other old timers that may still be there from the 70's. i too left my heart the after all these years i still get a pain because i used to be the first one to arrive and the last to leave. i have been reading all of your comments and have had the same feelings and smells and memories as you all have. never forget glen arden for as long as you live it is something that no one can ever forget. when i brought my son for the first time to arrowhead when he was 9, i wanted mary bell and doc joe and laura pole and a bunch of other people i knew was still there. if any of you get a chance ask to see or where you can get a copy of uncle jim's poetry book, it describes everything thsat you all feel in your hearts. i'm sorry that i took so many lines but i miss camp ever so much. my son loved it so much he stayed for 10 years. when i would drop him off i would come to glen arden to say hi to casey (climb every mountain) i love you all and i don't even know you. that is what glen arden is all about.
