Erin and Garrett Graham
Erin and Garrett Graham have dedicated their careers to the growth and education of children. Erin, formerly a middle school and high school English teacher, has been working full-time in the field of camping since 2009. Garrett began his career in camping with the YMCA in 1996 and residential summer camping in 2000.
Their love for camp stems from their own experiences as campers, and their hope is to give that same joy that they hold dear to every camper they serve.
Erin and Garrett grew up in Columbia, SC and have a three year old son named Henry . Prior to coming to Camp Glen Arden, Erin and Garrett served as the directors for many summers at an all girls summer camp in Flat Rock, NC.
Casey never missed a summer as a camper or counselor from the age of seven until college graduation. Before coming to Glen Arden as director in 1980, she studied voice with Norman McLean and graduated from Wesleyan College with a degree in religious education. Following graduation, she worked with the American Red Cross in Korea and upon completion of her assignment, she and two friends, another Red Cross worker and a missionary on sabbatical, teamed up and traveled around the world for a year. Upon return to the USA, she sang with Robert Shaw and the original Chamber Chorus of the Atlanta Symphony for four years. She returned to Salzburg to attend the Mozarteum and sang professionally in the Theatre an der Wien, Vienna, Austria. Once back in the USA, she earned received a Masters of Music (MM)Degree in voice from the University of Illinois. In 1974, a position as Assistant Professor of Voice at Wesleyan College resulted in a tenured post that she continued until returning to Glen Arden.
Liz and her sister, Amy, came to Glen Arden for their first summer in 1969. They happily attended every summer until they were too old to be campers! Liz completed the Glen Arden JCT program and became a counselor. In 1985 she joined Casey in administration as the Head Counselor. Casey and Liz have worked together every summer since then, except for the two summers Liz stayed home to have her children, Elizabeth and Jack. She and her husband, Dan, live in Winter Park, Florida.
Shana Goulas joins us in the summertime from Thibodaux, LA. She came to Glen Arden in 1987, as a first-year counselor. She quickly became indispensable in the Crow's Nest, taking wonderful care of our youngest campers as well as teaching dance for several summers. After she received her master's degree in education from Nicholls State, she joined the staff again, this time as the smiling face behind the front desk in the summer office. Just a few summers later, Shana became our program director. Shana spends her school years teaching pre-kindergarten. Her strong background in elementary education and vast experience in the classroom make her a natural to plan and implement the varied and exciting program offered to Glen Arden's campers. And her energy and sense of humor make everything fun!
